This pool of applicants will be used for future Maintenance Worker I openings in 2019 for the Grounds, Utilities, Stormwater and Street divisions.

The City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates to immediately fill vacant full-time Maintenance Worker positions within the Public Works Department. Positions to be filled in 2019 include positions in the Grounds, Utilities, Stormwater and Street divisions. These are entry-level positions within the Public Works Department.

The hours for these positions are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm and they are based at the City Operations Center. Grounds Workers may be required to work weekend shifts. These positions are represented by the AFSCME Local 307-CC bargaining unit.

The ideal candidates for these positions shall have education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and entry level experience in maintenance. Valid driver’s license required. Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is highly desirable and will be required within 12 months of the date of employment.

In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: excellent customer service skills, dependability, positive attitude, ability to take initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with all sectors of the community and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
