The City of Camas Parks & Recreation Department is throwing a “Thanks for the Memories” gathering to celebrate the 65 years that the Camas Municipal Pool has dutifully served our community. We will honor the pool’s history on Thursday, February 28, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Camas Community Center, 1718 SE 7th Avenue. Activities will include a community gathering to share pool memories, photo boards, meet and greet with Parks & Recreation staff and Commission, memory cards, and light refreshments.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their historic or memorable photos of the pool building or of themselves or family members enjoying the pool’s amenities. Staff will be on hand to scan up to five of your favorite photos which will be saved for archival reference at both the Camas Public Library and the Two Rivers Heritage Museum. City of Camas pool photos will also be on display for viewing and digital copy request.
There will also be “memory cards” available on which you can write down your “favorite experience” or “favorite memory” at the pool. These mementos will also be held in the public archives.
For questions related to the “Thanks for the Memories” special event, you may contact Krista Bashaw at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-817-7991. If you are unable to attend, but would like to share your historic photos, please email up to five photos before February 27 to Krista at the email just listed.
