Entry Level Police Officer Process:

The City utilizes a continuous testing process for both Entry Level and Lateral Police Officer positions.  The City contracts with Public Safety Testing (PST) to administer both the written and physical agility portions of the selection process and an applicant must pass both before they can apply with the City.  

To find out more about testing with PST, please visit www.publicsafetytesting.com. They have information regarding test dates as well as frequently asked questions.

Once an applicant has passed both processes with PST, and upon request of the City, a listing of candidates is sent electronically to the City. These applicants will be notified by the City when a position is open to participate in the City’s application and interview process. DO NOT contact the City of Camas regarding your score or status. You will be contacted if/when you will be considered as an applicant with us.

Job Description

The City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates for Maintenance Worker I in the Street/Stormwater Division.

This is an entry-level position. The hours for the position is Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm and it is based at the City Operations Center. The position is a member of the AFSCME Local 307-CC bargaining unit.

The ideal candidate for this position shall have education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and one year of experience in maintenance/construction is desired. Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License and Flagger’s card is preferred and will be required within 6 months of the date of employment.

In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: excellent customer service skills, dependability, positive attitude, ability to take initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with all sectors of the community and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
