Postcard reminders for backflow prevention annual testing are being mailed to our current list of homeowners that have irrigation backflow devices.

Backflow occurs when water or other substances flow in the opposite direction than intended, allowing contaminants to enter the public water system or consumer’s plumbing. For detailed information, please visit WA Department of Health

Residential:
• All underground lawn sprinkler systems are required to have a backflow prevention assembly installed to reduce the risk of contaminating public drinking water.
• Installation of a backflow prevention device or lawn sprinkler system requires a plumbing permit issued by the City of Camas.

Remember: have your irrigation system's backflow device tested annually! All testing is the responsibility of the property owner. A list of testers can be viewed here.
