This past winter Dylan Ryan, a senior at Camas High School, proposed to the Camas Parks and Recreation Commission the concept of building a life jacket loaner station at Heritage Park for his senior project. While work is still not finished, Dylan wanted to get the loaner station in use and lifejackets available during last week’s stretch of warm weather. All materials were donated for this project with the biggest contribution coming from the Camas-Washougal Volunteer Firefighters.

Clark County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol and Washington State Parks and Recreation have committed to provide life jackets as needed to promote water safety. For more on the Life Jacket Loaner Program visit: https://parks.state.wa.us/956/Life-Jacket-Loaner-Program
