Whether you’re a Camas resident, merchant, or visitor, you’ve likely noticed that community and regional growth has increased traffic, creating safety and mobility challenges around town. To alleviate these challenges, we’ve kicked off plans to improve the intersection of NE Lake Road and NE Everett Street (State Route 500), located between Lacamas Lake and Round Lake.
Right now, in what’s called the “pre-construction phase," we’re taking a closer look at all the options for making the intersection safer and more efficient. As required by the state, our engineering partners are out and about, doing things like assessing environmental conditions, identifying invasive/diseased growth, tallying traffic flows, and analyzing different intersection options.
It is important to clarify that no decisions have been made. After the pre-construction phase, moving forward would require review and approval from Camas City Council, as well as obtaining funding for the construction phase itself.
First, we want to find out what YOU, a Camas stakeholder, think about the many pieces of this project! Through a series of outreach activities, we hope to gather your ideas. Here’s how you can get involved:
- Explore the project webpage – www.cityofcamas.us/lakeroad
- Attend the public open houses – Each will address a different phase of the project. They are Tues., Feb. 26, at Camas Library, 5:30-7:30 PM, and Tues., March 26, time and location coming soon.
- Complete the online survey – We’ll be gathering feedback Feb. 22 – March 11.
We hope to hear from you at an upcoming event or through the online survey! If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 360.817.1563.
